Welcome to the Hilly Hundred Overnight Bicycle Storage Page. Ever since
the very first Hilly Hundred Weekend in 1968, we have offered safe, secure
overnight bicycle storage on both Friday and Saturday nights. For
this purpose we use the Edgewood Junior High School gymnasium, where we
have a protective tarp on the floor and professionally manufactured triathlon
bike storage racks. Locking your bike is not necessary, as both the
gym and the school are locked overnight whenever Hilly personnel are away
from the scene. This location is close to the indoor sleeping buildings,
the RV parking and tent camping. Oh, one more thing: it's free.
Please pay
close attention to the hours that the storage area is open to deposit and
retrieve your bike. These hours are clearly shown in your Confirmation
and Information Book and they are determined by the times that we want
riders to be on the road and then when we expect them to be returning from
the route. We try to be lenient in the application of the opening and
closing times to account for conditions of one sort or another, such as weather,
but you must not assume that the times will automatically be stretched. Do
your best to abide by these times, as it's difficult to do our event without
your bicycle. Many thanks
to our directors Kay and Bill Heirbrandt who have conducted this function
for us for many years. It should also be acknowledged that the Hilly
could not offer this service without the generosity of the Indianapolis
Metropolitan Planning Organization's Pedal & Park. They have graciously
loaned us their equipment that is used at many events throughout the cycling
season. |
