Weekend Activities

The ride is only part of the weekend fun!

The fun begins on Friday night when those who arrive early pick up their registration packets and then stick around for live entertainment and free refreshments that can’t be beat.  Friday night arrival is optional but encouraged in order to reduce the congestion during packet pickup on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning includes the always popular Costume Contest.  Dress up in a period costume, a clown costume or anything of your choosing. Use your imagination. Your photo will be taken at the first rest stop between 9:30 and 11:30 am.  Individual and group awards will be given at the 7:30 pm Saturday evening Variety Show. Decisions of the judges are final!  It’s all in fun anyway, so don’t take yourself too seriously.

The fun continues on Saturday night at the 5:30 and 7:30 pm Variety Shows with live, professional entertainment. Much of the evening is set aside to highlight the people and events of the Hilly Hundred Weekend, including some special awards for special people.  Reed Steele will perform and serve as the Master of Ceremonies, appearing in his 29th consecutive year with us.

You’ll find many of the top bicycle shops in the midwest holding unbelievable end-of-season sales in the Hilly Hundred Vendor Tent.

If photography is one of your passions, bring your camera, take your best shots and review the contest rules so you can enter this year’s Photo Contest. Judging takes place after the Hilly Hundred Weekend. The winners will be notified in January and their pictures displayed at the 2012 Hilly Hundred Weekend. Top prize is worth a cool $150.  Check out the official Hilly Hundred Photo Contest Rules.
